LSBXcoverThere is a new kid on the block: Exercises and Projects for The Little SAS Book Fifth Edition.  Rebecca Ottesen, Lora Delwiche and I have worked for three years to complete this book of multiple choice, short answer, programming exercises, and projects.  This book is designed to be used as a supplement to the fifth edition of The Little SAS Book.  However, I think this book has turned out so well that someone who just wants practice with SAS programming could use this book by itself.

One of the great things about this book is that we have created 77 data sets for the programming exercises, and you can download these data sets for free.

  1. Hello
the ebook i purchased through amazon does not includes all answers. Why selected answers? why not give all the answers?

    • Julio,
Thank you for your comment. We have been getting a lot of questions from people who would like to have answers for all the exercises! We included answers for only odd-numbered multiple choice and short answer questions so that instructors can use the other questions for homework. This is standard practice for academic textbooks. However, I do wonder if this standard will change, and we are currently talking with instructors to find out what they think. Answers to the multiple choice and short answer questions can be found in the corresponding chapters of The Little SAS Book, Fifth Edition. As for the programming exercises, we included only hints because there are often many possible solutions, and we do not want readers to think that there is only one way to solve each programming exercise. In addition, including solutions to the programming exercises would nearly triple the size (and price) of the book. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about specific exercises. Sincerely, Susan

It would be great if the standards change and all answers are provided. Some do not attend classes and learn on their own, so there is no instructor to provide them; and their is always the doubt if we got the right answer or the best possible.
